Haverfordwest Leisure Centre

Cottons won the Design & Build competition for the new Haverfordwest Leisure Centre in November 2006 and site clearance started in the December. The contract, valued at £8.3 million, is due for substantial completion in December 2008 with the opening planned for February 2009.

 

 

 Facilities will include

Entrance lobby

Pool

1 - 8 lane competition pool with adjustable floor and water depth and submersible division boom
2 -Learner and play pool
3 - Interactive water features
4 - Spectator seating
5 - Changing and shower facilities

Sports Hall with dedicated gymnasium area, viewing and changing facilities.

Sauna and Steam Room

   Dance Studio
Fitness Gym
Creche
Cafe
Undercroft car parking for 90 cars

The contract includes mechanical  installations for water, heating (including biomass boiler), ventilation, pool treatment and electrical to include lighting, power and communication.

Work included the demolition of the former National Park Offices and County Council Offices on St Thomas' Green.

Project Manager for Client Pembrokeshire County Council is Steve Owens (01437 775236), working together with Chris Payne from Pembrokeshire Leisure.

Architects are Childs and Sulzmann of Bristol with structural engineers Roger Casey and services engineers Hulley & Kirkwood
